Newsletter: November with Queer Theatre
There’s a lot to get involved with this month at Queer Theatre, and we’d love to see you. We kick off with our Queer Theatre Variety Night on Friday 7th November at The Two Brewers - an unapologetically queer celebration of drag, music, spoken word and performance from across our community. Every ticket directly supports our work nurturing queer talent, so by spending the evening with us, you’re keeping queer art alive. Then on Wednesday 12th November we return with The Show People Podcast, recorded live with the brilliant Pearl Mackie - actor, activist, and the beloved Bill Potts from Doctor Who. Tickets are limited to just 100, so early booking is encouraged.
Later in the month, Tuesday 18th November brings our Queer Play Reading Club, featuring I Fcked You In My Spaceship* and a special guest conversation with playwright Louis Emmitt-Stern. It’s a relaxed evening of new queer writing, reading together, discussion, free tea and snacks, and good company. And on Wednesday 26th November, we celebrate our community’s talent at the OutCast Autumn Showcase, featuring actors and writers from across Queer Theatre’s classes and programmes, directed by Andrew Keates. Finally, if you’ve been thinking about joining us as a participant rather than an audience member, 2B: Acting Classes for LGBTQ+ People run every Monday. No experience needed — just curiosity, courage and a cup of tea at 6:30pm. Come be part of the family.
