The Show People Podcast LIVE
with Cheryl Fergison & Andrew Keates

Wednesday 12th August 2026
Two Brewers, Clapham

The award-winning Show People Podcast with Andrew Keates continues its live monthly residency at The Two Brewers with a very special guest: Cheryl Fergison. Cheryl joins Andrew for a special live recording and an intimate, in-depth conversation about a remarkable life and career across television, theatre, music, writing and survival.

Best known to millions for playing Heather Trott in BBC’s EastEnders, Cheryl created one of modern soap’s most loved characters. As one half of the iconic “Hev and Shirl” friendship, she brought enormous warmth, comedy, vulnerability and humanity to Albert Square. But Cheryl’s career reaches far beyond Walford. Across more than four decades, she has worked across television, film, stage and radio, with credits including Doctor Who, Bad Girls, Little Britain, Little Miss Jocelyn, The IT Crowd, Big School, Hard Cell, Dodger, Mandy, ’Allo ’Allo!, Hale and Pace, Middlemarch and Covington Cross.

Her stage work includes West End productions and classical theatre, including work with the Royal Shakespeare Company. She is also a singer, musician, writer, teacher and performer, appearing in pantomimes, stage shows and Pride events across the country.

In 2025, Cheryl published her autobiography Behind the Scenes. That same year, she turned 60 and faced a serious health challenge after suffering a stroke, an experience that has only strengthened her determination to keep living, working and embracing whatever comes next.

Under the direction and hosting of Andrew Keates, The Show People Podcast has earned a reputation for helping guests feel comfortable enough to be truly open, not only about their successes, but also about the struggles and pressures that come with building a life in the performing arts. Expect a funny, frank and deeply human conversation about fame, survival, class, motherhood, pride, health, reinvention and what it really takes to keep going in an unpredictable industry.

For anyone who loves Cheryl, EastEnders, British television or honest showbusiness stories, this is an evening not to be missed.

Tickets are strictly limited to 100, with all profits supporting Queer Theatre’s work nurturing queer talent and telling LGBTQIA+ stories.
