SILENCE = DEATH

An Evening of Performances & Remembrance for World AIDS Day

Tuesday 1 December 2026 | The Railway, Clapham
Doors: 7pm | Show: 7:30pm | Running Time 2 hour with an interval

To mark World AIDS Day, Queer Theatre presents SILENCE = DEATH, a powerful evening of performances, readings and stories exploring the past, present and future of HIV/AIDS, the lives it has touched, and the extraordinary resilience of the LGBTQIA+ community and those who have helped us.

Directed by Andrew Keates and performed by members of the Queer Theatre Company, this special one-night event journeys through the decades, from the fear, prejudice and devastating losses of the early AIDS crisis to the activism, medical breakthroughs and changing attitudes that have transformed what it means to live with HIV today.

Through a carefully curated programme of performances, readings, music and personal stories, SILENCE = DEATH will honour those we have lost, celebrate those living with HIV and shine a light on all those we should be grateful for.

Expect an evening that is moving, provocative, funny, celebratory and important. Whether you lived through the AIDS crisis, are living with HIV today, or want to better understand this important part of our shared history, we warmly invite you to join us.

About Queer Theatre

We create spaces to tell Queer stories and nurture Queer talent - and our mission is to ensure no Queer creative need ever spend a week alone again.

We do this with our weekly Acting Classes For LGBTQIA+ People, London’s OutCast Showcase of Queer Actors and Writing, monthly Queer Play Reading Club, The Show People Podcast LIVE, Luvvie: The Party for Queer People in the Performing Arts, industry workshops, masterclasses, and many trips and adventures.

Make sure you visit our What’s On page to see everything available for you to join.

Queer Theatre welcomes experienced professionals to enthusiastic beginners. We seek what connects us rather than what divides us. Our work may challenge us as artists, but our spaces will always be founded on mutual respect, care, love and support.
