London Vigil for Transgender Day of Remembrance

Friday 20 November 2026 | Soho Square, London

On Transgender Day of Remembrance, Queer Theatre invites our LGBTQIA+ community, friends and allies to join us in Soho Square as we stand together in solidarity, reflection and remembrance.

Each year on 20 November, people around the world come together to honour the lives of transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse people lost to transphobic violence and discrimination.

Following last year's gathering, we'll once again be attending London's annual Transgender Day of Remembrance vigil in Soho Square, organised by trans charity Not A Phase.

This is an opportunity to remember those we've lost, listen to the voices of our trans community and stand together against hatred, prejudice and violence.

At Queer Theatre, we believe nobody should have to face difficult moments alone. Whether you're transgender, non-binary, LGBTQIA+ or an ally, you're warmly invited to join us.

You don't need to know anyone or have attended a Queer Theatre event before. Everyone is welcome.

Itinerary

  • 6pm: Meet Queer Theatre in Soho Square, where we'll gather as a community before the vigil.

About Queer Theatre

We create spaces to tell Queer stories and nurture Queer talent - and our mission is to ensure no Queer creative need ever spend a week alone again.

We do this with our weekly Acting Classes For LGBTQIA+ People, London’s OutCast Showcase of Queer Actors and Writing, monthly Queer Play Reading Club, The Show People Podcast LIVE, Luvvie: The Party for Queer People in the Performing Arts, industry workshops, masterclasses, and many trips and adventures.

Make sure you visit our What’s On page to see everything available for you to join.

Queer Theatre welcomes experienced professionals to enthusiastic beginners. We seek what connects us rather than what divides us. Our work may challenge us as artists, but our spaces will always be founded on mutual respect, care, love and support.

Not a Phase

This vigil is organised independently by Not A Phase, and Queer Theatre is not involved in its organisation or management. This listing is intended to bring together Queer Theatre members, LGBTQIA+ creatives and those working in the performing arts who would like to attend the vigil as a community rather than alone. While Queer Theatre is not responsible for the event itself, we wholeheartedly support its purpose and are proud to stand alongside the transgender community in remembrance and solidarity.
