Marina Sirtis’ Star Trek: Picard script sells for £1701 at The Show People Podcast: LIVE with Michael Dorn in aid of Queer Theatre, and in memory of scene DJ, Michael Maull.

An incredible £1701 was raised for Queer Theatre at The Show People Podcast: LIVE with Michael Dorn, when Marina Sirtis’ Star Trek: Picard script was auctioned at The Two Brewers.

The winning bidder, Paul Maull, dedicated his donation to his brother, Michael “DJ Michael M” Maull, a much-loved DJ on the Teesside scene who recently passed away unexpectedly.

Paul told us: “I’ve been looking for a way to honour my brother’s memory. Winning the script and making this donation felt like absolutely the best way. He would have loved The Two Brewers and everything Queer Theatre is doing there.”

Andrew Keates, Artistic Director & Founder of Queer Theatre, and host of the The Show People Podcast said: “When I was a lonely gay kid growing up under Section 28, I used to dream that the crew of the Enterprise might come and save me. I never imagined that, in my 40s, I’d have the far greater privilege of friendships with Marina Sirtis and Michael Dorn, and that they would help me create bold new queer spaces and seek out LGBTQIA+ people so they can connect, grow and never need to spend a week alone in London again. And to meet Paul and receive his support in memory of his beautiful brother Michael, reminds me how important this work is. Thank you to Paul, Marina, Michael and everyone who made this evening truly out of this world."
