Queer Theatre Lowers Prices & Makes Their Acting Classes For LGBTQIA+ People More Accessible Thanks To Fundraising Work.
Leon Marshall and Gopala Davies in one of Queer Theatre’s Acting Classes for LGBTQIA+ People, held at the Two Brewers every Monday.
Queer Theatre has introduced a new pricing structure for its Acting Classes for LGBTQIA+ People, following member feedback, successful fundraising and a growing number of new people joining the company every week.
The change is part of Queer Theatre’s ongoing commitment to telling LGBTQIA+ stories, and nurturing Queer talent, while ensuring the micro-organisation remains self-supporting and sustainable by its members for the future.
From now on, there will be three ways to book a single class and engage in this powerful Queer creative movement in South London:
Acting Class Ticket | Standard: £25
Our standard price for a single Acting Class for LGBTQIA+ People.
Acting Class Ticket | Pay It Forward: £30
If you’re able to pay a little more, choosing Pay It Forward helps subsidise reduced-price places for other LGBTQIA+ people, keeping our classes affordable and accessible to more of our community. You can also add an additional donation at checkout if you’d like to give a little more.
Acting Class Ticket | Pay Less: £20
Concession price for Equity members, students, and those on a low income. We ask only those who need it, take it - as these tickets are limited and subsidised from our hardship fund.
For those who want to attend every week, our Monthly Loyalty Passes will now make every class just £20, with the total cost depending on how many Mondays there are that month.
The new structure has been made possible through fundraising from sell out nights of The Show People Podcast: LIVE, Luvvie: The Party For Queer People In The Arts, auctions, donations and increased ticket sales, alongside the continued support of Queer Theatre’s growing community of Queer talent across the performing arts - both professional and beginners.
And Join This October & perform In OutCast: London’s Showcase of Queer Actors & Writing!
October is an especially good time to join the classes, with members attending this month eligible to take part in Queer Theatre’s next OutCast Showcase of Queer Actors and Writing on Wednesday 25 November at The Two Brewers.
OutCast gives members the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience, with industry guests invited to attend, as well as receive professionally filmed on-stage showreel footage and photograph. Paid for by Queer Theatre.
Just as importantly, the showcase brings together LGBTQIA+ actors and theatre-makers to create work, make new connections and build friendships within the wider Queer Theatre community.
Queer Theatre’s Acting Classes for LGBTQIA+ People take place every Monday and are open to actors and theatre-makers at different stages of their careers.
Join us now to take part in the showcase and take advantage of being part of a community of Queer performing artists every week
